“Wonder”

Day 60 of 366 Day Project

“Magic is everywhere, explore & be amazed everyday!”

Todays photo is a portrait of a special friend Matt Jones portraying ‘wonder’. When Matt, from Property Resources Shop asked if I would do a few portrait images for his online business I jumped at the opportunity of helping innovative businesses that help and support communities.  I chose this photo for today because it fits the theme of my 366 Day Project; exploring, being inquisitive with life and finding the magic that surrounds us everywhere everyday.

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” ~ W.B. Yeats

Meaning of Wonder is a feeling of amazement and admiration, caused by something beautiful, remarkable, or unfamiliar (noun). Desire to know something; feel curious (verb).

“Look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: Thus is your time on earth filled with glory.” ~ Betty Smith

Wonder is probably not an emotion many of us experience on a regular basis; a childlike sense of wonder is hard to achieve when you’re busy avoiding giant slush puddles on your way to work. But perhaps we should seek out the feeling more often, as psychologists keep finding new ways that it benefits us. Research has indicated that wonder seems to encourage collaboration, for one; it also appears to slow down our perception of the passage of time. And the latest study, published recently in the journal Emotion, suggests that wondering promotes good health.

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” ~ Albert Einstein

So what grabbed your attention today that made you wonder?
