Day 25 of 366 Day Project

“Magic is everywhere, explore & be amazed everyday!”

“Marking the end of an era – Tabulam Bridge”

How AMAZING is this bridge? It’s the longest, single-span wooden bridge in the Southern Hemisphere which is earmarked to be replaced this year, marking the end of an era for the northern NSW village of Tabulam.

The 300-meter timber truss bridge was built between 1899 and 1903 across the Clarence River on the Bruxner Highway at Tabulam between Casino and Tenterfield.

“Every person has a train of thought on which they ride when they are alone. The dignity and nobility of their life, as well as their happiness, depends upon the direction in which that train is going, the baggage it carries, and the scenery through which it travels.” ~ Joseph Fort Newton
