Meet Eli and Em, two very dear friends of mine. I love this photo. Can you believe it was taken only minutes after they had a disagreement that resulted in a flurry of tears. When I asked them if they wanted their photo taken and to show me how much they loved each other everything changed…Can you feel the pride and joy they share in this photo? So precious and I’m sure Em agrees with Jean’s quote below.
We love to hate them but still can’t imagine life without them. They annoy us, basically know all our strengths and weaknesses and are usually our first best friends.
If you haven’t already guessed, these descriptions belong to the wonderful individuals known as siblings. Brothers and sisters, sisters and sisters, brothers and brothers – by blood and by marriage – is one of those loves that can pretty much withstand anything.
Siblings like to test the boundaries. One of the pros is that they feel free to be themselves – uninhibited silliness, uncensored conversations, unconditional love. One of the cons is that tact goes out the window – thoughtless throwaway lines, harsh judgments, boisterous fighting are commonplace. Sound familiar?
